Halloween Half Marathon and Freaky 4 Miler

Costumed runners and walkers follow Miami Beach’s waterfront paths in a Halloween race offering two distances and a children’s dash. The annual Halloween Half Marathon and Freaky 4 Miler returns Saturday, October 24, with both races starting and finishing at Lummus Park at 7th Street and Ocean Drive. Costumes are encouraged but optional.

The 13.1-mile half marathon follows a primarily out-and-back route, with much of the course along the boardwalk and beachwalk. The four-mile option accommodates participants seeking a shorter run or walk, while the Trick or Treat Kids Dash adds a separate activity for younger participants. Finishers receive a Halloween-themed medal.

Both distance races begin early in the morning and have a four-hour time limit. Aid stations approximately every mile provide water and electrolyte beverages, with refreshments and medical support also available at the finish. Participants are advised to arrive by 5:45 a.m. to allow time for parking and reaching the start.
