Here & Now
Feb 26, 2026 - Feb 28, 2026
Starting: 8:00 PM
A dynamic lineup of new short-form works highlights Miami’s emerging and mid-career performance artists in a multi-night showcase at Miami Theater Center in Miami Shores. Presented by Miami Light Project, Here & Now commissions local creators working across dance, theater and interdisciplinary forms to debut original pieces that reflect contemporary life in the city. The performance runs from February 26 through 28.
This year’s program features Clinton T. Harris, Diego Melgar, Nicole Pedraza and Diago León Lang, and Nina Osoria Ahmadi. Harris presents Bonnie Where’s/Wears Clyde?, a conceptual performance examining how feminine energy is shaped and reframed through traditional gender roles, drawing from down-low, trans and gay culture to explore identity and expression.
Melgar’s SWAMP LILY unfolds as a contemporary ballet inspired by Miami’s wetlands, blending symphonic music and choreography in a mythic story about environmental disruption and urban change. Pedraza and León Lang collaborate on PALITROQUE, a contemporary dance work that reflects on memory, migration and cultural identity through family objects, projected visuals and an original score. Ahmadi contributes THE SKY, THE SKY, THE SKY, a multidisciplinary performance piece.
