A Spanish-language art history lecture examines the transition into the Renaissance through the work of artists who reshaped European painting.
History of Art takes place Thursday, February 5 at the Doral Cultural Arts Center and is presented by the City of Doral. Led by William Alonso, the program focuses on the Proto-Renaissance and Early Renaissance, tracing how artists began to move away from medieval conventions toward greater emotional expression, spatial realism and technical innovation.
The lecture explores key works by Giotto, Masaccio and Piero della Francesca, offering context on how their approaches to form, perspective and human presence influenced the development of Renaissance art. Designed for both art enthusiasts and newcomers, the talk provides historical insight while remaining accessible to a general audience.
