A Spanish-language lecture at the Doral Cultural Arts Center explores one of the most influential periods in Western art history. The third installment of the History of Art lecture series takes place Thursday, April 2.
Led by art historian William Alonso, the program focuses on the Cinquecento, the high point of the Italian Renaissance during the early 16th century. The talk examines the work of masters such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Raphael, whose innovations in composition, anatomy and perspective helped redefine artistic expression and shape the future of European art.
Part of an ongoing series presented by the City of Doral, the lecture invites participants to explore the cultural and historical context behind some of the Renaissance’s most celebrated works while gaining insight into the artistic ideals of harmony, balance and humanism that defined the era.
