Ibeyi

Doors open: 7:00 PM | Show starts: 8:00 PM
French-Cuban twin sisters Lisa-Kaindé and Naomi Diaz bring Ibeyi’s layered blend of Afro-Cuban rhythm, Yoruba tradition, soul and electronic music to the Miami Beach Bandshell. The concert takes place Saturday, February 14, presented by the Rhythm Foundation. Returning to the Bandshell with music from Offering, the duo explores release, renewal and self-discovery through a sound rooted in ancestral memory and contemporary production.
The name Ibeyi means “twins” in Yoruba, reflecting both the sisters’ relationship and the spiritual traditions that inform their work. Lisa-Kaindé leads on vocals and piano, while Naomi’s percussion draws on instruments including the cajón and batá drum. Their music is also shaped by their Cuban heritage and by the legacy of their father, the late percussionist Anga Díaz, known for his work with Irakere and members of the Buena Vista Social Club.
Offering marks a new chapter for Ibeyi, arriving as their first independent album after earlier releases on XL Recordings. The project expands their collaborative approach, with new producers and musicians contributing to a record that frames music as an offering rather than a spell. The performance begins at 8 p.m.
