Improv's Annual Turkey Contest

A pre-holiday comedy showdown takes over the Miami Improv as local performers compete for laughs—and a very unusual grand prize.

Improv’s Annual Turkey Contest, happening Tuesday, November 25, brings an open-mic format with a twist: the audience picks the winners. Comedians receive five minutes of stage time, and the top performer walks away with a Thanksgiving turkey, $100 and a guest spot on The Block Party show.

Following the venue’s standard open-mic guidelines, participants must check in 30 minutes before showtime and meet a 10-guest minimum; guests receive free entry with a two-drink minimum. The result is a lighthearted, competitive evening where emerging comics test new material and the crowd decides who takes home the holiday bragging rights.
