International Aroid Society's Tropical Plant Expo
Sep 20, 2025 - Sep 21, 2025
A global community of tropical plant enthusiasts gathers for two days of rare aroids, expert talks and immersive workshops at the Miami-Dade County Fair & Expo Center.
The International Aroid Society’s Tropical Plant Expo returns September 20–21, offering 49,000 square feet of vendor booths, speaker presentations and hands-on learning dedicated to the fascinating world of aroids and tropical plants. Hosted annually by the International Aroid Society, the event draws collectors, researchers, growers and hobbyists from around the world.
Over 70 vendors will showcase rare and unusual plants, horticultural tools, handmade botanical goods and specialty growing supplies. Expert-led lectures and interactive workshops run both days, with topics ranging from tissue culture and lighting techniques to vertical growing and botanical research. Speakers include Dr. Mónica Carlsen, Drew Martinez, Tyler Thrasher and Jason Mark Hughes, among others.
Saturday’s programming also includes the IAS Annual Member Dinner and Live Auction, with presentations by David Ruland of the Atlanta Botanical Garden and Lucas Garcia of Amazon Spheres. Sunday features additional workshops and the announcement of the Aroid Award winners.
Whether you're an experienced collector or just starting your plant journey, this annual expo offers a rare opportunity to explore the science, artistry and community behind tropical plant cultivation, all under one roof.
