International Coastal Cleanup at Biscayne National Park
Sep 20, 2025
From: 8:00 AM to Noon
Volunteers gather at Biscayne National Park for a shoreline cleanup that supports both local conservation and a global effort to protect the oceans.
International Coastal Cleanup at Biscayne National Park takes place Saturday, September 20, beginning at the Dante Fascell Visitor Center. Organized locally by VolunteerCleanup.org, the event is part of Miami-Dade County’s International Coastal Cleanup 2025 and marks the 40th anniversary of this worldwide initiative. Volunteers will remove debris from the Mowry Canal area and record data through the Ocean Conservancy’s Clean Swell app, contributing to international research on marine debris.
Participants should bring closed-toed shoes for walking on mixed terrain, water in a reusable bottle and sun protection such as a hat, sunglasses and lightweight clothing. Long sleeves and pants are recommended for comfort in buggy areas. Cleanup supplies including gloves, trash bags, buckets and grabbers will be provided. Volunteers will meet at the lower level of the Dante Fascell Visitor Center, with free parking available. Waivers are required, and community service hours are available upon request.
This cleanup is one of more than 65 sites across Miami-Dade County contributing to the 40th annual International Coastal Cleanup, which engages millions of people worldwide in caring for our oceans and waterways.
