International Creole Month Celebration
Oct 24, 2024
From: 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Enjoy a celebration of Creole language and culture at the International Creole Month Celebration 2024 on Thursday, October 24, at The Katz Restaurant and Lounge. This family-friendly event will feature live music, Creole cuisine and cocktails.
This year's celebration honors TiCorn (Cornelia Schütt), a renowned Haitian singer and songwriter. TiCorn's multicultural heritage, with German roots in Cap Haitien, adds a unique dimension to her international career as a Creole-language artist.
Hosted by the Haitian culture promoters Sony Bèlanfòm and Farah Larrieux, the event will feature performances by The Tenors, the spoken-word artist Underscore, the Haitian folklore dance group Bagèt Sant Dans Ayiti and the conga players group Vodou Lakay. Additionally, guests can enjoy singing along to TiCorn's classic Haitian folklore songs and her own Creole Chansons.
