From: 10:00 AM to Noon
Discover the hidden histories and iconic landmarks of Miami’s waterfront on a narrated boat tour through Biscayne Bay. Islands of Biscayne Bay Cruise takes place Saturday, July 26, departing from the marina at Bayside Marketplace aboard Island Queen’s Miami Lady.
Led by HistoryMiami Museum’s Resident Historian Dr. Paul S. George, the tour explores sites such as Fisher Island—once owned by D. A. Dorsey, Miami’s first African American millionaire—along with Flagler Memorial Island, Palm Island and locations tied to Miami Beach developer Carl Fisher. A native Miamian and renowned historian, Dr. George brings over three decades of experience and storytelling to this immersive journey through local history.
The two-level vessel features an air-conditioned indoor deck, an open-air upper level and scenic views from bow to stern. Water and soda are included in the ticket price, with additional snacks and drinks available for purchase onboard. Attendees should check in between 9:15 and 9:50 a.m., as the cruise departs promptly after 10:00 a.m. and cannot accommodate late arrivals.
The Island Queen Cruises dock is located inside Bayside Marketplace, straight ahead through the main entrance by the marina. Parking is available in the adjacent garage, with metered and public options nearby. The venue is also accessible by public transit, including the Metromover College/Bayside stop. Each ticket includes complimentary admission to HistoryMiami Museum. Sun protection is recommended.
