An evening of classic jazz vocals and live ensemble performance highlights the long-running Jazz at The Betsy series on Miami Beach. Carole Ann Taylor performs Saturday, March 21 in The Betsy Hotel’s Piano Bar.
A fixture of Miami’s jazz scene for more than five decades, vocalist Carole Ann “CAT” Taylor is known for her warm stage presence and improvisational style rooted in the traditions of classic jazz standards. She is also a co-producer of The Betsy’s Overture to Overtown project, an initiative celebrating the legacy of Overtown’s historic jazz community.
The evening’s lineup also features pianist Angel Perez, a Miami-born musician and Frost School of Music graduate who has performed at regional festivals and competitions, along with drummer Brandon Lee Lewis, whose international career includes performances with renowned jazz artists and work on Broadway productions. Cuban American bassist Renée Cruz completes the ensemble, bringing experience shaped by studies with prominent jazz figures including Ron Carter and Buster Williams.
Part of The Betsy’s Live Jazz program, the series presents performances throughout the week and has become one of the longest-running live music programs on Miami Beach. Guests can enjoy the music in the hotel’s Piano Bar or pair the performance with dinner and drinks at LT Steak & Seafood. Admission is free.
