Feb 25, 2026
Two performances: Noon to 1 PM & 7:30 - 8:30 PM
An original multidisciplinary performance honors a century of Black History Month observance through movement, music and storytelling.
Joy: Making the Future Visible takes place Wednesday, February 25 at Miami Dade College’s Kendall Campus in the Pat & Martin Fine Center for the Arts, Room M113. Directed and choreographed by Professor Michelle Grant-Murray, the production is part of the College’s Black History Month programming marking 100 years of the national observance.
Conceived as a 100-year celebration of community, collaboration and commemoration, Joy explores the diversity of the African Diaspora in America through an integrated program of song, dance, live music, spoken text and visual art. The performance reflects on legacy and resilience while envisioning the future through creative expression.
Two presentations are scheduled: a free performance from noon to 1 p.m., and an evening performance from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Evening tickets are $10.
