Select Days
Wed: 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM | Sat: 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM
Explore the science behind staying cool in a space designed for sensory comfort and inclusion. This summer edition of Frost Science’s Just for Me program offers families and individuals with sensory processing or accessibility needs a quieter, more adaptive environment to experience the museum’s exhibitions—along with a hands-on science activity that highlights how substances change states to beat the heat.
Just for Me: Summer Cool Down will take place at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science on Wednesday, June 18 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 21 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. During these sessions, exhibition sound and lighting levels will be adjusted to support a sensory-friendly experience. Visitors will also have the opportunity to engage in a special interactive activity focused on phase changes like sublimation, condensation and evaporation—learning how these processes work and applying them in a fun, hands-on way.
The event encourages guests to explore at their own pace and comfort level, with resources such as a custom Social Narrative available to help prepare for the visit. Families are also invited to connect and share information with others in a supportive setting.
