Keys Across America: Piano Concert

Nearly two centuries of American piano music come into focus in a recital by pianist Mackenzie Melemed at Newman Recital Hall. Taking place Sunday, October 18, the program is part of Frost Music Live’s 2026-2027 season and traces changing ideas of an American musical voice through works from different eras.

Melemed, a recipient of the Avery Fisher Career Grant, performs music by Aaron Copland, Amy Beach and Florence Price alongside newer compositions that extend the program into the present. The selections span contrasting styles and perspectives, highlighting the variety of traditions that have shaped American concert music.

Presented in the intimate setting of Newman Recital Hall at the Knight Center for Innovation, the concert begins at 4 p.m.
