Arca Images presents an intense emotional journey exploring faith, ethics and the search for truth when a humanitarian mission is shaken by tragedy. La Travesía, a play by Josep María Miró, runs select dates July 10-20 at Westchester Cultural Arts Center, with performances Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 5 p.m. The story follows Sister Cecilia, whose principles are challenged after finding a brutally assaulted young girl in a violence-ravaged village where she works with children and refugees.
Directed by Carlos Celdrán and produced by Alexa Kuve, the play features an accomplished cast including Elba Escobar, Juan David Ferrer, Caleb Casas, Guillermo Lavandera and Rachel Pastor. The production is presented in Spanish with simultaneous English audio translation.
This performance is part of Miami-Dade County Auditorium's Away From Home Series, a program of off-site performances at alternative venues during the Auditorium's renovation period. Minimum age for attendance is 12 years, and seating is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
