Last Nerd Nite at Gramps

A longtime fixture of Miami’s curious, culture-loving crowd closes a chapter with its final installment at Gramps in Wynwood.

Nerd Nite Miami returns to the Gramps stage for one last evening at the venue that has hosted the series since 2014. Known for its mix of smart, funny, and unexpectedly deep talks delivered in a bar setting, the night brings together science, pop culture, history and offbeat expertise in a format that helped define Miami’s version of “edutainment” long before it became mainstream.

This special edition marks a Gramps farewell rather than an end to the series itself. Original co-founders Melissa Blundell-Osorio and Laura Chaibongsai return to co-host, honoring the community that grew where Nerd Nite audiences mingled freely with metalheads, drag performers and trivia regulars under one roof. Among the evening’s presentations is “The Story of Gramps, Wynwood’s Best Bar,” delivered by Miami New Times contributor Liz Tracy, adding a fitting, site-specific sendoff to the night.

The gathering takes place Thursday, December 18 at Gramps Wynwood. Admission is free, open to guests 21 and over, with trivia sprinkled between talks. While Nerd Nite Miami will continue at future locations, this installment offers a rare chance to experience the series one last time in the space where it became a beloved monthly ritual.
