Literally Everyone's Invited: Odes to South Florida
Apr 04, 2026
From: 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM
A gallery reception at Books & Books in Coral Gables celebrates a new art book inspired by South Florida’s people and places. The opening for Literally Everyone’s Invited: Odes to South Florida takes place Saturday, April 4.
The exhibition features photography from the book Literally Everyone’s Invited: An Ode to South Florida, a collaborative project marking the 10th anniversary of the ZipOde, a playful poetic form created in 2015 by O, Miami in partnership with WLRN. The ZipOde invites writers to craft short poems inspired by Miami-Dade County ZIP codes and the local details that define each neighborhood.
Edited by Gesi Schilling and Sarah Trudgeon and published by O, Miami, the book brings together poems and photographs from more than 450 South Floridians. The collection serves as both an art book and a community portrait, capturing everyday life across the region through personal reflections and imagery.
The event is part of the annual O, Miami Poetry Festival, a monthlong April celebration that brings poetry into public spaces, community gatherings and creative projects throughout Miami-Dade County. Admission is free, with RSVP details to be announced.
