Live Jazz at the Betsy: Carole Ann Taylor & Angel Perez Trio
Jul 10, 2026
Starting: 6:00 PM
Miami jazz vocalist Carole Ann Taylor joins pianist Angel Perez and his trio for an evening of live music at The Betsy in South Beach. The performance takes place Friday, July 10, with music scheduled from 6 p.m. to midnight and Taylor appearing from 8 to 11 p.m. Presented as part of Jazz at The Betsy, the program also highlights Taylor’s role as a 2026 CreARTE Artist in Residence.
Known as “CAT,” Taylor has been performing professionally for more than 50 years and is a longtime figure in Miami’s jazz community. She is also connected to The Betsy’s Overture to Overtown Project, which recognizes the history and continuing influence of Overtown’s jazz legacy.
The trio is led by Miami-born pianist Angel Perez, a Frost School of Music graduate whose background includes performances at the Essentially Ellington Competition, the Miami Downtown Jazz Festival and Okeechobee Music Festival. He is joined by drummer Brandon Lee Lewis, whose credits include international performances and Broadway productions, and Cuban-American bassist Renée Cruz, who studied at The New School and The Juilliard School after training with several leading jazz bassists.
Dinner and drinks are available at The Piano Bar, and table reservations are available through LT Steak & Seafood.
