Living Land Community Festival
Mar 29, 2026
From: 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Music, storytelling and hands-on cultural activities bring a community gathering to Vizcaya Village celebrating Indigenous traditions and environmental awareness. The Living Land Community Festival takes place Sunday, March 29.
Presented as a special edition of the weekly Vizcaya Village Farmers Market, the family-friendly festival highlights Indigenous cultures and the importance of honoring the land through performances, workshops and film screenings. Visitors can explore the historic farm and village setting while browsing local vendors offering fresh produce, baked goods, vegan products and handcrafted items.
Featured programming throughout the day includes:
- Cultural performances and storytelling, including traditional dance and music by the Ameyal Mexican Cultural Organization, storytelling by Gordon “Ollie” Wareham of the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum and Polynesian dance and drumming by Moeata Luau
- Drop-in workshops, such as creating traditional Ojos de Dios woven crafts and contributing to a collaborative community patchwork project inspired by nature and place
- Film screenings curated by AV Club featuring selections from the Miami-Dade Public Library System’s historic 16mm archives exploring Indigenous life, craft traditions and regional culture
An optional aromatherapy workshop led by the Ameyal Mexican Cultural Organization offers participants the opportunity to create a personalized botanical oil blend. Wellness classes are also offered at the market throughout the morning for a small fee.
