Locust Late @ The DiLL: Club Sinema Workshop
Dec 20, 2025
From: 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Locust Projects celebrates nightlife’s creative legacy with Locust Late @ The DiLL: Club Sinema Workshop, an evening dedicated to experimentation, community and performance.
The event takes place on Saturday, November 20, featuring a workshop by filmmaker and Club Sinema founder Angela Rio, followed by a multimedia burlesque performance by Iman Clark (Nami Flare).
Rio, a 2025 WaveMaker Grantee, will lead a hands-on session exploring the grassroots filmmaking and organizing strategies behind Club Sinema, a Caribbean pop-up cinema uplifting Miami’s Black and queer creatives. Participants are encouraged to bring laptops and follow along as Rio shares tools for building self-sustaining, community-driven creative practices.
Later in the evening, Nami Flare takes the stage with Siren’s Allure, a sensuous performance that merges burlesque, sound and video projection to trace a siren’s journey from the Mississippi Delta to the Caribbean Sea.
Presented as part of the Knight Digital Innovation Initiative at Locust Projects, the event is free and open to the public. Refreshments for guests 21 and older are provided by The Tank Brewing Co. and Topo Chico.
