Locust Late @ The DiLL: Create Animated Installation Art
Apr 23, 2026
From: 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
A hands-on workshop and experimental performance explore the intersection of digital art and immersive technology at Locust Projects. The event takes place Thursday, April 23, as part of the monthly Locust Late @ The DiLL series.
Led by interdisciplinary artist and educator Ariel Baron-Robbins, the evening begins with a workshop focused on creating animated installation art using digital scanning, Blender and extended reality (XR) tools. Participants are invited to bring their own laptops and follow along as they develop interactive virtual environments, with collaborative results designed for both online and VR presentation.
The program continues with a live performance by visual and sound artist Richard Moreno, who transforms sculptural elements into a multimedia installation incorporating sound, video and live musicians. Presented in an experimental format, the event highlights emerging approaches to digital art-making and immersive creative practices in a gallery setting.
