Mainly Mozart Festival: Postcards from Vienna
Jun 06, 2025
From: 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM
A program centered on Vienna’s musical legacy brings together two distinguished performers in a recital that spans centuries of stylistic evolution, emotional depth and historical resonance. With its focus on four composers deeply connected to the Austrian capital, the performance offers a nuanced journey through the city's enduring influence on classical music.
Presented as part of the Mainly Mozart Festival lineup, Postcards from Vienna takes place Friday, June 6 at the Knight Center for Music Innovation at the University of Miami. Violinist Joshua Brown—2024 Queen Elisabeth Competition laureate—and pianist Marina Radiushina perform a program that moves from the elegance of Mozart’s Violin Sonata in B-flat Major to the expressive Romanticism of Schubert’s Rondo in B minor. Short lyrical works by Fritz Kreisler evoke early 20th-century nostalgia, while Brahms’ Violin Sonata No. 3 in D Minor concludes the program with both emotional intensity and structural sophistication.
This concert marks the final performance of the Mainly Mozart Festival’s 32nd season, which runs on select dates through June 6, 2025. Presented by the Miami Chamber Music Society, the festival continues to highlight performances that pair time-honored repertoire with interpretive insight and intimate scale.
