Mainly Mozart Festival: Reflections and Horizons
May 22, 2025
Starting: 8:00 PM
Discover the expressive range of the accordion in a solo recital that bridges centuries of musical tradition with bold, contemporary storytelling. On Thursday, May 22, Hanzhi Wang returns to the Mainly Mozart Festival for Reflections and Horizons, a program that highlights both her virtuosic technique and interpretive depth.
Praised by The New York Times for her “staggering virtuosity and soulful musicianship,” Wang guides listeners through a rich soundscape—from Scarlatti’s vibrant Baroque sonatas and selections from Bach’s Goldberg Variations, to her own original compositions and the passionate rhythms of Piazzolla’s tango. The evening also includes music by Mozart and Danish composer Martin Lohse, whose seasonal miniatures explore delicate shifts in mood and tone.
