Meditate With A Master
Mar 01, 2026
From: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
A daylong Buddhist retreat unfolds within the forested grounds of Patch of Heaven Sanctuary in Homestead.
Meditate with a Master takes place Sunday, March 1, led by Tibetan Buddhist nun, author and teacher Venerable Ani Lodro Palmo. Presented as the second edition of this retreat series, the program centers on the question, “What is awakening?” through guided meditation, storytelling and contemplative inquiry.
Ani Lodro Palmo serves as abbess of Vajra Vidya Retreat Center and Monastery in Crestone, Colorado, and teaches within the Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. Drawing inspiration from the life of the 11th-century yogi Jetsün Milarepa, she explores how challenge, self-doubt and inner struggle can become catalysts for transformation. Her published works include The End of Suffering, A Journey Into Peace and All That Appears & Exists, with books available for purchase onsite.
The retreat includes seated meditation, mindful movement, Dharma talks, silent mindful eating, guided nature walks and time for reflection and journaling. Sessions are supported by Patch of Heaven’s Mindful Pocket Park immersion experience and facilitated in collaboration with the sanctuary’s leadership team.
Set across 20 acres of natural preserve, the program is open to both newcomers and experienced practitioners. Limited complimentary spaces are available for Patch members, and scholarship tickets are offered for those experiencing financial hardship.
