Miami Art Week at Faena
This event has passed.
A milestone season unfolds at the Faena District as Faena Art marks ten years in Miami Beach with a suite of illuminated installations by Es Devlin, complemented by an immersive textile environment by Pepe Mar. Spanning Faena Beach, the Cathedral, the Faena Art Project Room and Casa Faena, the program transforms the hotel campus into a public landscape of reading, reflection and encounter during Miami Art Week.
At the center of the presentation is Library of Us, a 50-foot rotating triangular bookshelf set within a reflecting pool on Faena Beach. Housing 2,500 books that have shaped Devlin’s practice, the sculpture invites visitors to sit at a circular reading table, explore annotated volumes and experience the work as its mirrored surface turns slowly beneath the open sky.
Inside the Cathedral, Reading Room extends this meditative environment through a 46-foot bench that merges bookshelf, LED display and sound. Featuring texts contributed by hotel staff and recorded readings by the artist, the installation offers a quiet space to listen, observe and engage throughout the day.
In the Faena Art Project Room, Tracing Time presents drawings and paintings across glass, paper and TV screens, bringing Devlin’s interest in light, gesture and perceptual shifts into an intimate indoor setting. Ray-Ban Meta’s translation technology enhances these installations with on-site demonstrations designed to expand accessibility and visitor interaction.
At Casa Faena, Tropical Stomping Grounds by Pepe Mar transforms the atrium into a floor-to-ceiling textile landscape built from 15 years of collage and assemblage. The installation, part the No Vacancy exhibition series, channels themes of identity, memory and the textures of Miami Beach culture.
Throughout the week, Faena hosts a series of public and ticketed programs, including artist talks, drawing sessions, wellness activations, DJ sets and beachside music events, designed to extend the experience of the installations and welcome both locals and visiting art audiences.
All installations are free and open to the public.
