Miami Beach Rock Ensemble

Student musicians, alumni and guest performers revisit classic rock favorites in an annual tribute to educator and musician Doug Burris at the Miami Beach Bandshell. Presented by Young Musicians Unite on Saturday, November 14, the concert celebrates the founder of the Miami Beach Rock Ensemble and the program he established in 1972.

The evening draws from the music of bands including Journey, Queen, Heart, Led Zeppelin and Yes, with an emphasis on ensemble playing, guitar-driven arrangements and vocal performances. The Miami Beach Rock Ensemble is joined by Sevenstone, Himalayan Salt Band, REVIVAL and VVilhelm before closing the program.

The tribute continues the ensemble’s decades-long role in South Florida music education, bringing current students together with alumni and other performers to honor Burris’ influence on generations of young musicians.
