Anticipated awards-season films and international cinema return to screens across Greater Miami and Miami Beach during Miami Film Festival’s annual fall showcase. The 13th edition of GEMS runs October 29 through November 5, pairing film screenings with filmmaker appearances, seminars, parties and other special events. The festival describes GEMS as its fall showcase for films generating attention during awards season.
Launched in 2014 as MIFFecito at MDC’s Tower Theater Miami, the event began as a seven-day program of red-carpet premieres and visiting filmmakers before adopting the GEMS name the following year. It has since developed into a companion to the spring Miami Film Festival, highlighting international, American and Ibero-American cinema in a more concentrated fall program.
The 2026 film lineup, featured guests and individual screening locations have not yet been announced.
