MIami International GuitART Festival: Freddie Bryant
This event has passed.
Guitarist Freddie Bryant brings a solo program of Brazilian jazz and bossa nova to the stage, blending classic repertoire with original compositions shaped by decades of cross-genre exploration.
Freddie Bryant performs on Sunday, February 22 at the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim Performing Arts Center. The concert features Bryant performing works by Antônio Carlos Jobim alongside selections from Solo Bossa, his recent solo guitar release that draws from bossa nova, samba and related Brazilian forms. Known for a refined touch and rhythmic clarity, Bryant approaches the material with a balance of technical precision and lyrical phrasing.
The performance is part of the XI Miami International GuitART Festival, which runs February 15-22 and includes concerts, master classes, lectures and a luthiers expo. Bryant holds a master’s degree in classical guitar from Yale School of Music and has built an international career spanning jazz and Brazilian music, with collaborations that include Eliane Elias, Tom Harrell, the Mingus Orchestra and Ben Riley’s Monk Legacy Septet.
