Feb 17, 2026
Starting: 7:30 PM
A concert by internationally acclaimed Venezuelan guitarist Luis Zea highlights the depth and versatility of the classical guitar tradition as part of the Miami International GuitART Festival.
Taking place on Tuesday, February 17 at the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim Performing Arts Center at Florida International University, the performance is part of the XI Miami International GuitART Festival, which runs February 15-22 and features daily concerts, master classes, lectures and a luthiers expo. Zea’s program spans works from the Renaissance and Baroque periods through the 20th century, alongside traditional Venezuelan repertoire that reflects his deep musical lineage.
Hailed by Cuban composer Leo Brouwer as “the ideal soloist,” Zea is a direct disciple of legendary Venezuelan guitarists Antonio Lauro and Alirio Díaz. His international career has included performances at venues such as Wigmore Hall in London and Alice Tully Hall in New York, as well as master classes and teaching residencies at leading music institutions worldwide. Known for his refined technique and expressive range, Zea brings decades of performance, scholarship and pedagogy to the festival stage.
A 2026 Miami International GuitART Festival Pass is available for access to all festival events at a reduced rate.
