Miami International GuitART Festival: Luthiers Expo
This event has passed.
A weekend showcase spotlights the craft, sound and artistry behind hand-built guitars as part of the Miami International GuitART Festival’s Luthiers Expo. Hosted at Florida International University, the expo brings together master luthiers, guitar makers and specialty shops from around the world, offering a rare opportunity to experience fine instruments up close.
Visitors can explore a wide range of classical, flamenco, acoustic and contemporary guitars, meet the makers behind them and learn about the techniques, materials and traditions that shape each instrument. Attendees are invited to try guitars on site, connect directly with luthiers and purchase instruments and related products, making the expo both an educational and immersive experience for musicians, collectors and enthusiasts.
Featured participants include internationally recognized workshops and independent builders such as José Ramírez, Novaes Guitars, Bill Glez, Michael Batell, Hill Guitar Company, Steven den Toom, Franco Marino and others, reflecting the global scope of the festival’s guitar-making community.
The Luthiers Expo takes place Saturday, February 21, and Sunday, February 22, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim Performing Arts Center at FIU. Admission to the expo is free and open to the public. The event is part of the XI Miami International GuitART Festival, which runs February 15–22 and features concerts, master classes, lectures and additional programming throughout the week.
