Miami Moviegoers: MIAMI CONNECTION

Connect with fellow film enthusiasts at a screening and social event centered around a cult classic. Miami Moviegoers: MIAMI CONNECTION will be presented by Miami Moviegoers Film Club on Sunday, June 8 at Shirley's Theater at Gramps.

This gathering offers an opportunity for film lovers to meet and interact. The event will feature a screening of the 1987 martial arts musical Miami Connection. Set in Orlando, Florida, the film follows a synth-rock band of orphans and martial arts experts who fight against a motorcycle gang involved in drug dealing. It gained cult status decades after its initial release due to its unique premise and production.

Preceding the main feature, the short film Homemaker will be shown, with actor Gabrielle Alexander present for a Q&A session.

Doors for the event will open at 3 p.m., with the film screening beginning at 4 p.m. A post-screening social gathering is scheduled for 6 p.m., providing attendees with a chance to engage with other cinephiles. The event is open to individuals aged 21 and over. Tickets are available for $14 in advance or at the door.
