Miami Plein Aire Quick Draw Competition
Oct 10, 2026
From: 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM
Artists race the clock to capture the landscape of Crandon Park during an inaugural outdoor painting competition on Key Biscayne. Held Saturday, October 10, the Miami Plein Aire Quick Draw gives participating artists two hours to create a work on location before gathering at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center for judging and awards.
Painting takes place from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by an afternoon viewing where visitors can see the newly completed works and purchase pieces directly from participating artists. The competition offers spectators a chance to watch the plein-air process unfold and see how different artists interpret the same natural setting.
The event is free and open to the public for spectators, with advance RSVP requested.
