Michael Blackson brings his stand-up act to Miami Improv for a Labor Day weekend run of shows in Doral. The comedian performs Friday, September 4 through Sunday, September 6, with five shows scheduled across the weekend. Known for his sharp delivery, high-energy stage presence and “African King of Comedy” persona, Blackson has built a following through comedy clubs, film roles and television appearances.
Born in Ghana and raised partly in Philadelphia, Blackson began performing stand-up in the early 1990s and gained wider attention through appearances on BET’s ComicView, HBO’s Def Comedy Jam and other comedy showcases. His breakout film role came in Next Friday, followed by additional work in stand-up, sketch comedy, music videos and television.
The weekend schedule includes performances Friday at 7:30 and 10 p.m., Saturday at 7 and 9:30 p.m. and Sunday at 7 p.m. Shows are 21 and older unless otherwise stated, with a two-drink minimum inside the showroom. Seating is first come, first served unless otherwise noted.
