Jan 19, 2026
From: Noon to 9:00 PM
A full-day film program invites reflection on the life, leadership and lasting impact of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at one of Miami’s most significant civil rights landmarks.
The MLK Day Film Festival takes place Monday, January 19 at the Historic Hampton House, the former Green Book hotel where Dr. King stayed during visits to Miami and where he drafted portions of his “I Have a Dream” speech. Presented as a commemorative cultural gathering, the festival features three award-winning films that explore key moments in Dr. King’s journey, each followed by facilitated discussion designed to encourage dialogue and community connection.
Screenings include Boycott at 12:30 p.m., Selma at 3:30 p.m. and MLK: The Assassination Tapes at 6:30 p.m. Guests may attend a single screening or remain for the full day. Admission and guided museum tours are free with reservation, and seating is limited. Complimentary popcorn is provided, with additional food and cocktails available on site throughout the event.
