A curator-led tour at the Freedom Tower offers behind-the-scenes insight into selected works on view, providing added context on curatorial decisions and artistic themes.
MOAD Talks with Isabela Villanueva takes place Saturday, February 7 at the Freedom Tower, with tours offered at noon in English and 2 p.m. in Spanish. Led by Villanueva, consulting curator at the Museum of Art and Design (MOAD) at Miami Dade College, the one-hour experience highlights key works from the Freedom Tower’s current exhibitions and galleries while exploring their historical, cultural and artistic significance.
Villanueva is a Venezuelan-born art historian and curator specializing in modern and contemporary Latin American art. Her work includes curatorial roles with the São Paulo Biennial and the Americas Society Art Gallery in New York, as well as leadership of MOAD’s Pavilion series in Miami. During the tour, she shares curatorial perspectives drawn from her academic background and professional practice.
The program is included with Freedom Tower admission. Complimentary parking is available at the Miami Dade College garage at 500 NE Second Avenue.
