MOCA Makers: Summer Series with Lysz Flo

Poetry and visual art come together in this hands-on workshop led by poet Lysz Flo and artist Nathan Justice Moyer. Inspired by Moyer’s work, the session begins with a reflection on poetry as a tool for capturing time, place and collective experience. Participants will then create their own “Plastic Poetry Print” tote bags using Moyer’s recycled plastic letters, experimenting with layering, rotation and repetition to turn type into abstract designs.
MOCA Makers: Summer Series with Lysz Flo takes place Saturday, August 9 at the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami (MOCA). MOCA Makers is a free monthly adult art program that offers informal art instruction and opportunities for creative exploration. All materials are provided.
