Moon Over Modernism: Miami
Feb 28, 2026
From: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Step inside one of Miami’s most talked-about midcentury homes for an evening tour and cocktail experience inside the restored “Jetsons House” in Morningside.
Moon Over Modernism: Miami takes place Saturday, February 28 at 5261 NE 5th Ave. Hosted by USModernist, this benefit event offers rare access to the 1949 residence, now known as SkyFin, for a two-hour gathering that combines architecture, design and live music.
Designed by Rufus Nims, a key figure in Florida tropical modernism, the 4,220-square-foot home became a neighborhood landmark for its dramatic, futuristic roofline. After years of vacancy, the property has been meticulously restored and reimagined by architect Gabriela Liebert and her team, blending its original midcentury vision with contemporary updates.
Guests will have the opportunity to explore the home’s interiors while enjoying specialty cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and live jazz. Proceeds support USModernist, a nonprofit organization dedicated to documenting, preserving and promoting Modernist residential architecture. The organization maintains one of the largest digital archives of Modernist homes in the United States.
