Henry Mancini’s film and television music takes center stage in a live tribute combining orchestral performance with narration about the composer’s life and career. The concert takes place Saturday, March 13 at Pinecrest Gardens as part of the 17th annual Jazz at Pinecrest Gardens season.
Performed by Jukebox Saturday Night, the program traces Mancini’s path from his early years in Pittsburgh and work with the Glenn Miller Orchestra to his career as a Hollywood composer. Selections include music from Peter Gunn, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Charade, along with “Moon River” and “The Pink Panther Theme.”
Managed by Glenn Miller Productions, Jukebox Saturday Night specializes in theatrical concert tributes that pair live music with historical context. Season subscriptions are available in June and July, while single-show tickets go on sale August 3.
