MUVE Volunteer Workday
Jan 17, 2026
From: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Hands-on coastal restoration and community science come together during a volunteer workday at Virginia Key North Point within Historic Virginia Key Beach Park.
Presented by MUVE, this service-oriented event focuses on enhancing critical coastal habitat through invasive species removal and beach cleanup activities. Volunteers will work directly in the natural landscape, contributing to ecosystem health while learning about the role of nature-based solutions in climate resilience and shoreline protection.
The workday is hosted in partnership with the Miami Community ResilientSea Project, a sustainability-focused initiative that connects scientific research, education and grassroots action to strengthen Miami-Dade County’s coastal and marine environments.
All tools and materials are provided. Participants are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle, wear closed-toe shoes and come prepared with sun protection and clothing suitable for outdoor work. Check-in takes place at the picnic tables at Virginia Key North Point Beach Park; GPS users can enter “Virginia Key North Point Trails.” Complimentary parking is available on site.
Community service hours are offered, with forms available for signature after the event.
