National Poetry Month at The Betsy
Apr 07, 2026
From: 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM
A poetry reading and conversation featuring Diamond Forde and Caridad Moro-Gronlier marks National Poetry Month at The Betsy Hotel on Miami Beach. The program brings together two contemporary poets whose work engages themes of history, identity and lived experience.
Taking place Tuesday, April 4, the evening includes readings from Forde’s The Book of Alice, winner of the 2025 James Laughlin Award, and Moro-Gronlier’s Through the Lens, a collection that expands the possibilities of ekphrastic poetry. Forde’s work draws on biblical structure to explore lineage and survival, while Moro-Gronlier’s writing examines perception, culture and meaning through a range of subjects and forms.
Presented in collaboration with Books & Books, the event is free and open to the public, with books available for purchase. The program is part of The Betsy Writers Room’s ongoing literary programming supporting poets and public readings.
