Nemesis: Free Film Screening

Alexandre Dumas’s The Count of Monte Cristo provides the starting point for a revenge thriller set in contemporary Miami. Nemesis, a locally produced film by The Brothers Nunez, screens Sunday, November 1 at Sandrell Rivers Theater in Liberty City.

The story follows Alex Montes, who comes under the guidance of wealthy newcomer Jareb Faria. As the businessman’s motives emerge, Alex discovers his role in an elaborate scheme targeting his family and their friends. The cast and filmmakers will attend the screening, presented ahead of the film’s upcoming digital release.

The afternoon program begins with Sudden Time Retro Genesis, a new cinéma vérité drama short by Sean Nunez.

Admission is free, with RSVP required. Both films are unrated. Nemesis contains violence and coarse language, with parental discretion advised for minors; the pre-show short is intended for audiences ages 13 and older.
