Noche Cinemundo Ladies’ Spotlight: Love on a Tightrope

A dreamlike drama inspired by the relationship between Spanish trapeze artist Pinito del Oro and poet Natalia Sosa Ayala explores artistic freedom, longing and the possibilities left between the lines of history. Screening Friday, October 23 at Silverspot Cinema Downtown Miami, Love on a Tightrope is presented as the Noche Cinemundo Ladies’ Spotlight during the OUTshine Film Festival: Fall Edition and marks the film’s international premiere.

Written and directed by Arima León, the Spanish-language film is set partly in 1960s Spain, where Sosa Ayala is hired to help Pinito del Oro with her memoirs. Drawing on historical events, correspondence and imagined encounters, the story follows the connection between the two women across decades as their creative lives and personal aspirations intersect. Tania Santana, Adriana Ugarte and Salva Reina lead the cast. The 116-minute film is presented in Spanish with English subtitles.

León is scheduled to attend the screening. An after party at Silverspot Cinema follows with a performance by Latin singer Cris Silva, an open bar and light bites.
