Noche Cinemundo Men's Spotlight: Narciso

Rock ’n’ roll, celebrity and political repression intersect in Marcelo Martinessi’s historical drama Narciso, screening at Silverspot Cinema Downtown Miami as part of the OUTshine Film Festival: Fall Edition. Presented Friday, October 23 as the Noche Cinemundo Men’s Spotlight, the Florida premiere follows a charismatic young performer who returns to Paraguay in 1959, becomes a radio sensation and challenges the social constraints of the era.

Inspired by real events, the 101-minute film traces Narciso’s rise and the mystery surrounding his death after a final performance, using his story to examine identity, desire and dissent under Alfredo Stroessner’s rule. Diro Romero stars alongside Manuel Cuenca and Margarita Irún. The film is presented in English, Guaraní and Spanish with English subtitles.

Romero is scheduled to attend the screening. An after party at Silverspot Cinema follows with a performance by Latin singer Cris Silva, an open bar and light bites.
