North Beach Social: Abstract Citizen

Modern jazz, global influences and Black fusion meet at the Miami Beach Bandshell as Abstract Citizen headlines the November edition of North Beach Social. Presented by Rhythm Foundation, the free monthly gathering takes place November 19, with Black Nimbus joining the bill alongside art, poetry and food activations.

Led by guitarist and composer Aaron Lebos, Abstract Citizen features bassist Marty Quinn, vocalist Vania Junco and drummer Lucas Apostoleris. The Miami ensemble blends contemporary jazz with improvisation and influences drawn from a broader global palette, reflecting Lebos’ work across projects ranging from touring with vocalist Nicole Henry to composing for Nu Deco Ensemble.

Black Nimbus adds a dance-oriented fusion of live instrumentation and studio production. The evening also includes Japanese snacks from Nom Nom & Co, poetry from Energy in Poetry, figure drawing with Raw Figs and a photo tent.
