O, Miami’s Quinceañera Court: A Dance Rehearsal

A rehearsal workshop offers a behind-the-scenes look at the choreography and traditions of a quinceañera court. O, Miami’s Quinceañera Court: A Dance Rehearsal takes place Saturday, March 14 at the 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant.

Led by Miami choreographer Rosie Herrera, the session invites participants to learn the coordinated movements and ceremonial structure that define a traditional quinceañera court. The rehearsal serves as a creative prelude to O, Miami’s quinceañera-themed celebration marking the festival’s 15th anniversary.

Herrera is a Cuban-American dancer and the artistic director of Rosie Herrera Dance Theatre. A graduate of the New World School of the Arts, she has created commissioned work for organizations including the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, Miami Light Project, Ballet Hispánico and the American Dance Festival. Known for blending theatrical storytelling, dance and music, her work explores cultural identity and ritual through contemporary performance.
