Food, memory, and culture take center stage as Padma Lakshmi explores how diverse traditions shape the American palate. Her latest book, Padma’s All American: Tales, Travels, and Recipes from “Taste the Nation” and Beyond, blends memoir, travelogue and cookbook, offering a portrait of the communities and cuisines that define the nation’s table.
From Indian coconut rice and Peruvian tamales to Afghani dumplings and strawberry cardamom cream cake, Lakshmi celebrates the flavors and stories that make America’s food landscape uniquely its own. The conversation will be moderated by Aleksandra Crapanzano, author of Chocolat: Parisian Desserts and Other Delights.
On Padma's All American takes place on Saturday, November 22 in the Chapman Conference Center at Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus. This ticketed event includes a copy of the book and complimentary admission to the Miami Book Fair Street Fair.
