A multidisciplinary open house transforms the Koubek Center into a cultural crossroads, weaving together architecture, film, literature, music and live performance through a Caribbean-focused lens.
Open House Miami: Caribbean Contrasts takes place Friday, February 27 at the Koubek Center as part of the citywide Open House Miami program. Presented by Miami Dade College in collaboration with its cultural institutions, the free evening invites the public to explore the historic Koubek Mansion while engaging with multiple artistic activations unfolding across the site.

Miami Film Festival Shorts
A continuous loop of independent short films, allowing guests to drop in and experience a range of cinematic stories throughout the evening. -
Miami Book Fair Reading Garden
An outdoor reading space where visitors can relax, browse curated selections and discover new books to take home. -
Museum of Art and Design Tour of the Koubek Mansion
A guided conversation on the building’s architectural history and transformation, led by architectural historian Victor Deupi with Amy Galpin, Executive Director of the Museum of Art and Design at Miami Dade College. -
Koubek Center Live Music
Mariachi performances that bring a rhythmic, romantic counterpoint to the evening’s programming. -
Live Arts Miami Immersive Experience
A work-in-progress journey with resident artist Rosie Herrera, featuring excerpts from Tropical Depression that explore memory, identity and homeland.
The event is presented in partnership with the Koubek Center, Miami Book Fair, Miami Film Festival, Museum of Art and Design and Live Arts Miami and is free and open to the public.
