Oscillation Sculptural Workshop

Locally harvested bamboo becomes a hanging sculpture during an outdoor workshop exploring the relationship between art, conservation and the natural rhythms of South Florida. The session takes place Saturday, August 1, at the Deering Estate Pump House. Participants will use bamboo and biodegradable twine to create a piece inspired by tides, movement and interconnected ecosystems.

Environmental artist Camila Young leads the workshop, drawing on a practice that combines climate advocacy, accessibility and cultural engagement. Her multidisciplinary projects use tactile materials, music and visual art to encourage conversation about environmental responsibility and community action.

The workshop is scheduled to take place outdoors unless weather conditions require a change in plans. Participants should dress for the weather and bring water, sun protection and pruning shears if available. Admission is free, with advance tickets available online only through Eventbrite.
