Peter London Global Dance Company & Frost Studio Jazz Band
Feb 05, 2026
Starting: 07:30 PM
A cross-disciplinary performance brings Caribbean-rooted jazz into dynamic conversation with contemporary dance, blending live music and movement into a single narrative arc. Composer and trumpeter Etienne Charles leads the Frost Studio Jazz Band in collaboration with the Peter London Global Dance Company, pairing rhythm-driven suites with newly created choreography.
The program features Charles’s works Bacchanal Tuesday, As an Offering and Green Thumb, compositions shaped by Carnival traditions, ancestral memory and modern jazz language. Each piece is matched with world-premiere choreography by Peter London, whose company draws from a wide spectrum of global dance forms to translate sound into motion. Framed by spoken introductions from Charles, the evening unfolds as an immersive exploration of cultural continuity and contemporary expression.
Peter London Global Dance Company & Frost Studio Jazz Band takes place Thursday, February 5 at UM Gusman Concert Hall. The performance is part of the Frost School of Music’s Signature Events lineup for the 2025-2026 season, highlighting collaboration across disciplines and traditions.
