A hands-on photography walk led by a documentary photographer invites participants to explore community storytelling through images in Historic Downtown Homestead.
Photo Walk With Documentary Photographer Carlos Munoz takes place Saturday, January 31, meeting in front of Losner Park in Historic Downtown Homestead. Presented by HistoryMiami Museum in conjunction with the exhibition Belonging in Transit, the outdoor workshop focuses on the fundamentals of photography and documenting everyday life, with guidance from Carlos “Cali” Muñoz, whose work centers on immigrant communities and cultural identity in South Florida.
Open to all skill levels, the program emphasizes practical, on-location learning. Participants must bring their own digital camera with manual controls for aperture, shutter speed, ISO and exposure compensation. The workshop is limited to 10 participants, with check-in beginning 30 minutes prior to the start time. Nearby street parking is available, and registration includes a complimentary pass to HistoryMiami Museum, where Belonging in Transit remains on view through March 29, 2026.
